Welcome to our October newsletter. In this month's issue we discuss our new standard clauses for agency agreements, provide guidance on the client consent form (Form 2) and provisional valuations, and share our recent consumer perception survey results on the real estate industry. You'll also find an article on our facilitation team and a reminder of our holiday closure period and how this effects new licence applications.
Over the past few months we have been working with REINZ on new standard clauses for agency agreements. A list of agencies that have agreed to use the new clauses will be published on our website from early November and we will be encouraging consumers to only enter into agency agreements with those agencies. For more information on the standard clauses, see our article below.
Recently we held another round of successful Industry Advisory Groups meetings, with 24 different licensees from across the country from four different sector groups (rural, commercial, business and residential). These meetings are a valuable tool for us to hear what is happening in each sector and gain feedback on our ideas for the industry. Thanks very much to those who give up their time to attend those meetings.
With the end of the year just about upon us it is a good time to make sure you are well on your way to completing your 2014 continuing education by 31 December 2014. If you do not complete your continuing education you will not be able to renew your licence next year.
Now for some licensing stats - currently we have over 14,000 active licences, with an average of 138 new licences being issued each month. This includes 813 company licence holders, 1,864 agents, 430 branch managers and 10,948 salespersons. There continues to be a net increase in licensee numbers, with there now being almost 1,000 more active licences than there were in 30 June last year.
