Welcome to our April newsletter. Bulk renewals are over for another year and we are very pleased with the uptake of the Licensee Portal with over 92% of licensees renewing their licence online. We have also been getting lots of employment and contact detail updates via the Licensee Portal.

The industry, as of this morning, has 14,767 active licensees made up of 1,832 agents, 400 branch managers, 11,698 salespeople and 837 companies.

We are still busy working on the Licensee Portal and shortly you will be able to do all things suspension online - suspending your licence, extending the suspension period and paying the annual suspension fee. Further enhancements are planned for later in the year including new applications. We will keep you posted and let you know when all this functionality is available.

April also saw us hold one of our Complaints Assessment Committee (CAC) training days. We hold these training days three times a year and they are attended by CAC panel members, Authority staff, Board members and guest speakers. The purpose of these days is to ensure that the panel members stay up to date with relevant legislation, industry issues and recent decisions from the Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal and Courts of New Zealand.

There is a lot of guidance information this month on some really important issues - conflict of interest, supervision, property inspection reports and the importance of knowing the area where you are selling. Please take the time to read this and give us a call if you want to discuss any of the information provided or have any other questions.
